Colour is key!

This image was taken in a supermarket i just saw the colours and i wanted to be able to show the different shapes and sizes, the different tones of colours from the oranges, yellows, greens and reds.

Rochester Photos Sunny and Dark Days out....

When Im out walking to and from places I like to be able to just whip out my phone and take images of anything i think would be a different image. Most of the images are taken really early or real late.

Mufaro Jayaguru (photoshoot)

My portraits have been at the centre of my attention as I really feel it has taken me some time to look at them and to develop my ideas.

I used this model because of the contrast between the colour of his skin to the colour in his eye, this is to demonstrate the effect of judging people when you fist see them, I wanted my model to be comfortable in what I had put him in. I used a honey comb filter on my light, this was so the light wasn't too over powering over my my model, not taking focus so to speak.

I started with a few images that I thought would but I wanted to different images that would contradict each other one open, one closed of i.e. hands over face.

This is part of the contact sheet I used for my final images the two images I used are both on this part of my contact sheet I wanted to show the other different poses I had my model do for me.
He was a very interesting and fun person to work with. He was open to ideas... apart for having to bend his knees down a bit to fit in the shot.

This was taken on the app Negative Me. I wanted to see how the image would have come out but i think that it has come out well in an old broken way and I think that its creates a mood.

This image I took on the app, this was very interesting as the green gives you that closed off feeling. the two fingers and =ring gives you a sense of dominance as if to say "I'm here, stand back".
The interesting patterns it has created this weird green contrasted image, but it slightly works.

This next images I again took on the app, and I feel that this one is more laid back and chilled. i had placed the images on top of a wood grain to get a new effect feel to it. its as it he was drawn on to the wood.

This image is one of my final images for my assessment. I like this because of the tones i have manage to capture, his uses of position really bring out a different sense of character. I like this because of the half that is lit and the other half that has been black out, his simple clothes and the simple black shirt really made it useful to just capture your face, making it the fist thing you seen in this image.

This one is my favourite image, I feel such power and strength in this image. You cant help but look in his eyes. Wonder what he's thinking about. His calm face really made this shoot to be a really successful one, he really made it so easy to do, his facial features are so captivating and I wanted to show this in this image.
This is an amazing image.

This imaged is just a collage of the images above a step by step of what i have got. I really enjoyed this shoot and that i think this is my strongest points.

Research description

For my  pictures I wanted to show beauty and to be able to see the pretty and the un expected colours and light you can see, that was to be shown in my colour images, then in my black and white photo I wanted to show how one small thing can disrupt something that could look so beautiful.

I travelled to many places, and went on walks to see if I could find what I wanted, as you see there aren't much things you can take pictures of in Rochester that the tutors haven't seen already! My images I wanted to reflect a balance of light and dark, to see a range of colours shown in my photos.
During my research I found many ideas to start with but they didn't sit right with me, but then I realised that when I go out, when it's either walking my dogs, or walking to and from uni and work I tend to stop and look at the views you get from Jackson's, the sunset is bright and soft at times, or there can be ranges of colours you see in the sky.

In my research I wanted to find something or someone that could support this, but it was tricky to find someone, ( I don't think I do well in the research bits).

Research for Environment

At my ideas were bouncing all over the place and i didn't have much of a clear idea, first i wanted to do bridges and what you can find underneath, but there was no time in doing that, so i decided to show the beauty found in places you never get to witness first hand, such as sunsets, bright blue skies, amazing views. I wanted to show landscapes and silhouettes of trees in from of amazing colours and show how the smallest thing can destroy a landscape so beautiful. That  is what i am trying to point out to you.

The images above are examples of what i am trying to prove. many of us walk many places, but hardly any of us stop and admire what we see around us, never stop and just look up!

Contact sheet 2

Contact sheet 2

This one i have taken two images from and used. the quality is not brilliant on one of the images, but the colour and the effect the puddles at the bottom of the image give out is very attractive to the eye. The colours in both images are creative and different. again i do think that i could have done so much more but... SHIT HAPPENS!!!

Contact sheet 1 environment

Contact Sheet 1

This is one of two contact sheets that have not been too destroyed, i think that in my case i could have done better. i don' think this is my best no,. but its better than having nothing!!!
I used 1 image from this contact sheet and two from the other.
